I love neighborhood signage.  A beautiful artful welcome sign or banner is a good boost for the image of a community and lets visitors know that your part of town welcomes creativity.  If your community doesn’t have one, find your best artists and change that!  Pittsburgh has some good ones, and hopefully more will start sprouting up in the coming years.  On my wish list is a welcome arch for the Strip District, like this one in San Diego’s Gaslamp district.  If Pittsburgh could somehow incorporate the displaced Wholey’s Fish sign into a welcome arch for the Strip, I’d be all for it.  If you have an idea for a new location for the Wholey’s sign, you have until the end of the month to submit.  Here are a few neighborhood signs I photographed in 2013.  I hope to find all of them this year.  Message me on facebook or shoot me an email if you know of a good one!  I’ll be adding more here soon …

It’s not every day you get the chance to see what $4 million can buy in Pittsburgh.  This Mt. Washington property with incredible 3 story views is on the market for just about that.  Coldwell Banker agent Tom Yargo gave me the tour of the 10,500 square foot custom built home that aside from being a private residence, has been the stage for countless fundraiser events, private parties and TV commercials.  Local celebrities have spent time there, and Sharon Stone even passed through at one point.  The photos here show just a sample of what the space has to offer.  Aside from the best views of our city, the property includes 2 kitchens, 4 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a disco with DJ booth, wine cellar and in-ground pool.  It certainly will be interesting to see who claims Pittsburgh’s most exclusive party house.  Check out the full listing here.
